Kyushu - retracting when attack comes
Use kyushu as an alternative to blocking an inside low kick. When the
inside low kick comes, retract the targeted leg as the kick comes,
counter it with your other foot. This will put you into the blindspot
position for a knee kick. Here it is step-by-step.
|
|
|
| Fighting stance (attacker on right). |
As inside low kick comes, retract
targeted leg backwards. |
Counter kick the opponents leg
as your retracted foot lands on the floor. |
|
|
|
| Secure blindspot position by
grabbing both shoulders. |
Pull opponent off balance while
getting your left leg ready for a knee kick. |
Set your final attack: right
hand under chin pulling back, left hand grasping head, kicking
foot back. |
 |
| Knee kick to back of the head,
after pull the knee back, clearing room for opponent to fall. |
