Jota Ninomiya

Shihan

Jota Ninomiya was born in Yawatahama, Japan, into the world of Enshin Karate. As the son of Joko Ninomiya, founder of Enshin Karate and creator of the Sabaki method, Jota’s first and most influential teacher was his father. Growing up around the dojo, Jota learned Enshin Karate directly from him—absorbing its techniques, principles, and philosophy through years of guidance, training, and daily exposure.

From an early age, his father ensured that Jota understood not only how to train, but why Enshin Karate exists: movement, positioning, adaptability, and efficiency against a resisting opponent. This foundation shaped the way Jota approaches both competition and instruction. He earned his black belt at the age of eleven and went on to compete extensively, winning multiple national and international titles, including All-Japan championships and several Sabaki Challenge victories across different weight divisions.

Jota later expanded his experience into professional MMA, continuing to test Sabaki principles in modern combat sports. While training with accomplished coaches in boxing, MMA, and grappling, his core approach remained rooted in the lessons passed down by his father and the Enshin system.

Today, Jota is dedicated to teaching and developing the next generation of martial artists. He focuses on strong fundamentals, clear movement, and practical application, while maintaining the values of respect and responsibility that define Enshin Karate. For Jota, teaching is not about imitation—it is about understanding, evolution, and passing on what was given to him in a way that stays true to its origin.
